Coffee used to be ground here, but today Bremer Herdentorswallmühle with its café is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Situated in the middle of Bremen’s park-like ramparts, the structure is one of a total of five mills from the 17th and 18th centuries that are still preserved in the city. In the 19th century it fell victim to fires twice, but was rebuilt each time. Flour was still ground in the mill until 1947. The café now housed here attracts visitors and walkers at all times of the year. The Herdentorswallmühle in Bremen is also a popular photo location.
