Friedenstein Palace in Gotha, Thuringia, is considered a unique testimony to the Baroque period. In addition to the representative interiors, the ducal museum, the Ekhof Theatre, the palace park and the orangery, visitors can also marvel at the art historical, historical and natural history collections that have been kept here for over 350 years. Built in the mid-17th century, Friedenstein Palace was remodelled and renovated several times in the following centuries. In 2004, Friedenstein Palace and Park then became part of the Thuringian Palaces and Gardens Foundation, which also includes the Palace Museum, the Museum of Nature and the Museum of Regional History, the Thuringian State Archive Gotha and the Gotha Research Library.
