The name of the Hermannshof Show and Viewing Garden goes back to the Weinheim industrialist Hermann-Ernst Freudenberg, who acquired the 2.3-hectare estate in 1888. Together with his wife Helene, Freudenberg began a unique collection of rare plants and woody plants, which was continued by the following two generations of the family. After the extensive redesign of the garden in 1924 by a garden architect, the Hermannshof began scientific work and the development of modern plant use. The mild viticultural climate of the region allows for a remarkable variety of plants. Today, more than 2,500 different species of perennials as well as rare woody plants can be admired on the extensive grounds.
