Kamp-Bornhofen is located in the middle of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley and can boast several famous buildings. In addition to the worth seeing castles Liebenstein and Sterrenberg, which are also called Enemy Brothers, this is especially the famous Mary and pilgrimage monastery in the district Bornhofen. The Franciscan monastery with the Marian pilgrimage church belongs to the diocese of Limburg and is the destination of numerous pilgrims every year. Not least because of its picturesque location on the right bank of the Rhine below the steep slate rock with the Enemy Brothers, the monastery in Kamp-Bornhofen is certainly worth a visit. In 2002, the Bornhofen Monastery was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley and designated a protected cultural property under the Hague Convention.
