The famous rock formation Bastei in Saxon Switzerland is by far one of the most popular destinations in the region. The unique view from the Bateiaussicht is particularly impressive, although it is partially closed due to safety measures. Among other things, the Lilienstein and the Königsstein can be seen here. You can then cross the Bastei Bridge to reach the ruins of Neurathen Castle. Other vantage points, such as the Ferdinandsfels and the Kanapee, reward the ascent with a spectacular distant view of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and the extensive Elbe Valley. Admission to the Saxon Switzerland Bastei is free – only the ascent can be a bit tiring, depending on the fitness of the visitors
