Hardly any other building has characterised the Bavarian city and the region as much as Ulm Cathedral. The absolute highlight of this magnificent building with a capacity of 20,000 people is undoubtedly the church tower, which at 161.53 metres is the highest in the world. After just 70 metres, you reach the first platform with a breathtaking view of the Danube, Ulm and Neu-Ulm. Construction of the imposing cathedral began back in 1377 and lasted a total of 513 years. In the middle of the 19th century, work had to be interrupted for a long time before Ulm Cathedral could be opened after the main tower was completed in 1890.
