Outstanding building of European cults (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Do you want to visit one of the oldest and most important medieval buildings? The Imperial Cathedral of Aachen is one of the most outstanding buildings of European culture and was one of the first UNESCO World Heritage Cities to be included in the World Heritage List. The foundation stone was laid by Charlemagne as early as 795, and subsequently many architectural and artistic epochs were incorporated into the building, which is well worth marveling at, including additions from the Hohenstaufen, Gothic and Baroque eras. It is highly recommended to visit the church from the inside. Here you can also admire the golden Charlemagne shrine, which contains the bones of Charlemagne and is one of the most famous goldsmith works of the Middle Ages.
