The seaside resort of Binz, like many resorts on the Baltic Sea, has a pier. There are four on Rügen alone; the Binz pier is 370 metres long and thus the second largest. Walking along the wooden bridge, you can feel the size of the sea. At the end of the bridge, the head is designed as an open terrace with a sea view. On both sides, two staircases lead down to the landing stages from which the excursion boats leave to travel to various places on the island.
