In the historic centre of the Eifel town of Blankenheim there is a very special street – the Zuckerberg. Here you will find several listed half-timbered houses, such as house number 8. This two-storey residential house was built in the middle of the 18th century and later supplemented with half-timbering. Another half-timbered house, the ancestral home of the Schumacher family living in Blankenheim, dates from 1595 and is the oldest half-timbered house in Blankenheim. The saying on the beam on the façade is worth seeing. It reads: “God will give peace to this house and to all who live in it”. If you make a detour to Blankenheim, you should not miss the picturesque houses on the Zuckerberg.
