The Botanical Garden in the north of Cologne – also called Flora – has 12,000 plant species from all over the world on its 11.5 hectare site. From American redwoods to European plants and Asian plants. Eye-catching features include Germany’s first palm avenue, the rose gardens, the Flora’s four interconnected show greenhouses and its own waterfall. Apart from the diversity of plants, major themes in the Cologne Flora are their importance for humans in nutrition, technology and medicine. Every year, more than a million visitors come to the Cologne Botanical Garden to experience a botanical journey around the world with all their senses.
