Cologne's Rhine embankment as a tourist magnet

Definitely the most beautiful place in Cologne Bay is the Rhine bank in Cologne’s Old Town with the famous Old Town Promenade and the Rhine Garden. At any time of year, numerous tourists can be found here, either taking a panoramic boat trip to get an overview of Cologne’s most famous sights or strolling along the promenade. Many cyclists, Segway riders and inline skaters are also out and about here. On the banks of the Rhine there are many inns, shops, breweries and squares that invite you to stroll and linger, nestled in intricate medieval alleyways. Popular photo motifs on the banks of the Rhine in Cologne are the picturesque gabled houses and old churches that can be found along the promenade.
