For nature lovers, the Darß village of Weststrand at the northernmost end of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula northwest of Ahrenshoop is a very special place for unique experiences. The rough and fine-sand beach stretches over a total length of 14 kilometres and is part of the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park. No wonder that the Darßer Ort Weststrand has often been voted one of the most beautiful 20 beaches in the world. The entire beach is open to dogs and is also approved as a nudist beach. The wild naturalness of the beach with original plants, natural dunes and remnants of trees creates a very special maritime atmosphere that no visitor will ever forget.
