If you are planning a trip to the German Wine Route, a visit to the historic old town of Deidesheim should definitely be on your agenda. Here you can admire, among other things, the town’s landmark, the baroque town hall from the 16th century, or the Mediterranean flair of the spacious Kaisergarten. The billy goat fountain in front of the “Paradiesgarten” town hall is also absolutely worth seeing. On it, the traditional billy goat auction is depicted, which is celebrated annually in Deidesheim on Whit Tuesday in historical costumes. On a tour of the old town, a visit to the castle park and the “Zollhäuschen”, a late Baroque garden house from the 18th century, is not to be missed.
