Situated in the middle of the forest, far from any modern architecture and deep in the valley, Eltz Castle has survived all wars unscathed. The picturesque castle impresses with its remarkably well-preserved architecture. High residential towers, numerous oriels, roofs and half-timbered elements have made it the epitome of a medieval knight’s castle. In addition to its unique architecture, the castle has historical interior furnishings spanning nine centuries. Numerous suits of armor, swords and halberds, as well as magnificent courtly gold and silver work are on display. The old stone walls are surrounded by a beautiful natural park. Thus, in addition to interesting historical exhibitions and an impressive view, the castle offers its guests numerous hiking trails.
