Very close to the Bavarian capital is the Feringa Lake, the largest bathing lake in the region. While the southern part of the lake is the official bathing zone, the northern area is used as a water sports zone. On the eastern shore there are volleyball courts, wide meadows for football, badminton and Frisbee, sand pits and playgrounds for children, as well as a separate sunbathing area for wheelchair users and people with disabilities. Around the Feringa Lake there is a circular path of about two kilometres, which is especially popular with walkers and cyclists. There is also a separate area where fishing is expressly permitted. There are also small biotopes here.
