The castle complex of Hirschhorn from the 12th century was the seat of the Knights von und zu Hirschhorn for over 400 years, who made a name for themselves as wealthy merchants and brave fighters. High above the Neckar valley, the well-preserved medieval complex offers a unique view of the Neckar loop and is connected to the former city wall. Still visible today are the 2.4-meter-thick and 13-meter-high shield wall, the keep, the outer castle, as well as the kennels and parts of the core castle. Currently, Hirschhorn Castle houses a hotel with restaurant as well as a registry office. Another part of the castle complex is privately inhabited.
