Near Constance in Lake Constance lies the famous flower island of Main, which attracts numerous tourists every year with its splendor of blossoms. Lennart Count Bernadotte transformed the once overgrown park into a flower and plant paradise with 150-year-old trees and opened it to visitors. Other highlights on Mainau Island include the baroque palace grounds and church as well as the Mainau Children’s Land with the adventure playgrounds “Dwarf Village”, “Water World” and “Blumi’s Shore World”, the farm and the insect garden with the second largest butterfly house in Germany.
