For the Federal Garden Show in 1967, the palace garden behind Karlsruhe Palace was laid out in the style of an English landscape park. In addition to a lake and large green areas, the extensive gardens also include water lily and pheasant gardens as well as numerous fountains, monuments and bronzes from various eras. The Karlsruhe Palace Garden is a popular meeting place for relaxing, picnicking, walking or playing sports. A highlight for families is the “Schlossgartenbähnle” – a steam locomotive with which you can ride through the park. Adjacent to the palace garden are the Botanical Garden and the Karlsruhe State Majolica Manufactory. A stream of a total of 1645 blue ceramic tiles leads to the latter from the palace.
