Where can you admire two famous royal castles while swimming? If you want that, you have to go to Bavaria, namely to the Alpsee. The mountain lake is located near beautiful Füssen – which is of course also worth a trip – in a literally royal location below the castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. Its water is crystal clear, making it one of the cleanest lakes in Germany. Blue-turquoise water shimmers and allows you to see stones at the bottom. On the southern shore is the Alpseebad. An approx. 5 km long, idyllic circular hiking trail offers numerous views to enjoy, benches to sit on and of course outstanding photo motifs from all sides.
