The picturesque village of Langenargen lies between the mouths of the Lake Constance tributaries Argen and Schussen on a headland and is well visited by tourists all year round. Situated between the Zeppelin city of Friedrichshafen and the Bavarian town of Lindau, the small town enchants its holiday guests with Mediterranean flair and a view of the Swiss Alps opposite. Life here is centred on the lake: The beautifully landscaped lakeside promenade in particular is a meeting place for young and old. Roman artefacts were found here in the 1990s. Langenargen was first mentioned in a document under the name “Arguna” in 773 in a deed of gift to the monastery of St. Gallen.
