In an idyllic location above the small, charming village of Beilstein, Metternich Castle nestles on the vineyards of the Moselle valley. A visit is rewarded by a wonderful panoramic view over the Moselle valley. The castle has its origins in the 13th century, and from 1637 it was owned for many years by the Baron of Metternich. The romantic, well-preserved ruins extend over 80 x 50 metres, through which you can stroll and feel the breath of the Middle Ages. The castle complex is topped by a 25-metre-high, pentagonal tower from which you have a particularly good view.
