Would you like to see Munich in all its beauty from above? Then it’s worth the 300 steps you have to climb to get to the viewing platform on the 56-metre-high tower of Alter Peter. From here you can see the towers of the Frauenkirche, the roofs of Munich and even the Alps when the foehn is blowing. The landmark is Munich’s oldest parish church with the oldest bells and the city’s historically first tower clocks. The weathered grave slabs on the outer walls of the church and the almost 300-year-old baroque high altar with golden figure of St. Peter as one of Munich’s most famous ecclesiastical art treasures are also absolutely worth seeing.
