The small town of Nagold with its 13,571 inhabitants is located on the edge of the Black Forest. Idyllically situated on the right bank of the Waldach, the old town, which was first mentioned in 786, can be easily discovered on foot. During a guided tour of the town, you can learn many details about the town’s 2,500-year history. This reaches from the Celts to the present time. Well known are the stories about the origin of the name Nagold or the legend of the “Wüsten Urschel”. In addition to the medieval craftsmen’s houses, magnificent residences, impressive churches and historic fountains, the remains of the former city wall and the ever-present river enchant visitors to Nagold.
