Do you like medieval flair with a panoramic view? Then visit Hohenbaden Castle, located on the western slope of the Battertberg. It was the first residence of the influential Margraves of Baden-Baden in the Middle Ages from the 11th to the 15th century. The castle was gradually expanded into an imposing centre of power and had up to 100 rooms in its “good times”. The castle courtyard, the Knights’ Hall and the tower of the Old Castle are particularly worth seeing. From the top of the tower you have an impressive panoramic view of the town and the Rhine plain. The Vosges Mountains can be seen on the horizon. In the knights’ hall of the castle, you can see a huge wind harp constructed by harp maker Rüdiger Oppermann.
