Cultural monument in classicist style

The Glienicke Palace estate and park in Potsdam were acquired by Prince Carl of Prussia in 1824. In the following years, he had the grounds extensively remodeled after impressions he had gathered on a trip to Italy. The former billiard house on the banks of the Havel was converted into a casino. The former manor house was also redesigned in the style of a classicist villa and a tower was added. An eye-catcher on the side facing the street is definitely the lion fountain. Prince Carl of Prussia later lived on the estate with his wife Marie of Saxony-Weimar. Today, the culturally significant building can be visited.
