A covered wooden bridge leads from Katharinenvorstadt to the picturesque Kocherinsel Unterwöhrd in Schwäbisch Hall. Here is a new highlight of the city: the New Globe Theater. This rainproof open-air theater opened in March 2019 after years of a temporary theater in the same location. With a beer garden, a playground and several walking paths, the Kocherinsel Unterwöhrd overlooking Schwäbisch Hall’s historic Old Town is also a popular destination for both residents and tourists. Since the listed retaining wall around the island is in very poor condition, it is currently being renovated at great expense.
