Museum of the year 2021

The site of the former Kronprinzenpalais is now home to the Stuttgart Art Museum. The successor to the municipal gallery is located on Schlossplatz and Königsstraße and presents the art collection of the city of Stuttgart. This was donated to the capital of Baden-Württemberg in 1924 by Marchese Silvio della Valle di Casanova. The impressive exhibition includes works by important artists from the 19th century to the present day. Particularly well known are the works of Otto Dix with the famous triptych “Big City”. In 2022, the Stuttgart Art Museum was named Museum of the Year 2021 by art critics from the German section of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA). An absolute must for all art fans!
