Triangular castle of the counts of Hohenlohe

Weikersheim Castle offers its visitors an exciting insight into earlier times. In addition to the striking tower of the moated castle, which stood in the same place before the palace, especially the impressive palace facade, the famous Knights’ Hall and the many rooms with well-preserved Renaissance and Baroque works of art show many details of the former courtly life. The Count and Countess Wolfgang II and Magdalena von Hohenlohe rebuilt Weikersheim Palace after the demolition of the castle and were also responsible for the unusual ground plan in the shape of a triangle. After the last count and countess Carl Ludwig and Elisabeth Friederike Sophie von Hohenlohe-Weikersheim, the castle was uninhabited for a long time.
