One of the few preserved late medieval castles

The Residenzschloss is one of the few preserved late medieval castles in Baden-Württemberg. The palace complex was built in the early 15th century on the model of the Old Palace in Stuttgart as the seat of Count Ludwig I of Württemberg. A prominent attraction in the palace is the so-called Golden Hall, an impressive panelled state room of the late Renaissance.
