Bad Wildungen is a spa town (pop. 17,000) in northern Hesse bordering the Kellerwald forest. The beautiful spa park is one of the longest in Europe. Bad Wildungen has had town rights since 1242 and has a particularly remarkable historic half-timbered old town. On the market square in the town centre, you can gaze out over the row of half-timbered houses and feel the medieval atmosphere. The Brunnenallee is lined with numerous beautiful historicist villas. The former luxury hotel Fürstenhof, built in 1902, is an imposing neo-baroque building and looks like a castle.
