Adventure museum about the Hohenzollerns

Anyone interested in German history should not miss Cadolzburg Castle in the Franconian market town of Cadolzburg with its adventure museum. After Cadolzburg Castle was first mentioned in a document in 1157, it came into the possession of the Burgraves of Nuremberg from the House of Hohenzollern in the middle of the 13th century, who had their centre of power in Franconia. This is how history came to be written at Cadolzburg Castle. Here, King Sigismund appointed Burgrave Friedrich VI as Elector of the Mark of Brandenburg in 1415, and when the Hohenzollerns rose to become kings in Prussia in 1701 and emperors of the German Empire in 1871, Cadolzburg Castle temporarily served as the seat of government of the German Empire.
