Cadolzburg or colloquially known as “Sporch” is a market in the district of Fürth, named after the Cadolzburg castle situated on a rock above the town. The development of Cadolzburg, which is over 850 years old, was accordingly also shaped by the imposing castle complex, which was once the residence of the Burgraves of Nuremberg and the Zoller margraves of Brandenburg. In the picturesque old town, especially around the market square, there are numerous historic buildings as well as the well-known Cadolzburg lookout tower – also called the “pencil”. Cadolzburg is also popular for its many hiking and cycling trails, the Advent market with arts and crafts market in the castle, the historical spectacle and the Chocothek (chocolate manufactory).
