Formerly an aging commercial area, today a hip centre for all those who want to be seen. Düsseldorf’s hip Medienhafen, previously called Handelshafen, has undergone an enormous transformation in recent years, especially in terms of architecture, so that more than 800 international companies from the media, advertising and creative sectors have settled here. The best-known building is certainly the New Customs Yard by star architect Frank O. Gehry. The very special charm of the Media Harbour with its combination of listed harbour atmosphere with the old cranes and outstanding modern architecture gives the Media Harbour a special atmosphere that regularly attracts many visitors to the numerous restaurants and cafés.
