Postcard view of Heidelberg's Old Town

You can enjoy a very special perspective of Heidelberg from the Heidelberg Philosophers’ Path: From here you can see the Königsstuhl, the Old Town, Heidelberg Castle and the Neckar River. Along the Philosophenweg you will find extraordinary vegetation reminiscent of Tuscany: from cypresses to bamboo to palms and pines. The Philosophenweg is intersected by the Schlangenweg, which begins just above the Alte Brücke opposite the old town and leads steeply through terraced vineyards to the forest. There are several viewing platforms in the vineyards from which you can enjoy a magnificent view over the city, reminiscent of a postcard motif.
