Picturesque view over Heilbronn

The 308-meter-high Wartberg rises in the middle of the picturesque vineyard landscape near Heilbronn. The popular excursion destination delights its many visitors with the open-air museum Weinpanoramaweg and an observation tower. Since 2002, the roof of the tower has been home to the “Sunbeam for Heilbronn” light sculpture by Dutch artist Jan van Munster, which shines in Heilbronn’s city colors: white during the day and red and blue at night. One of the most famous visitors to the Wartberg was certainly Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who raved about the wonderful view in his diary. Hikers can take a break and fortify themselves in the restaurant located on the Wartberg.
