The New Lighthouse is the landmark of the Lindau harbor entrance and the southernmost tower in Germany. Built in 1856 together with the Bavarian Lion on the other side of the entrance, the lighthouse measures 36 meters and has a base circumference of 24 meters. Worth seeing are the clock in the facade and of course the unique panoramic view over Lake Constance, which can be enjoyed from the observation deck. A total of 139 steps and five floors lead up to it. Those who need a breather during the climb can study the many interesting facts and amusing anecdotes about Lindau and Lake Constance that have been immortalized on the interior walls of the tower.
