A popular excursion destination in Ludwigsburg is the Favoritepark at Favorite Palace. In the past, the park was used as a pheasantry, but today around 150,000 visitors come to the recreation area every year. The park extends around the former hunting lodge and pleasure palace with an impressive tree population, woodland and many wild animals. Here you can see deer and trusting mouflons in the wild. Ludwigsburg’s Favoritepark has been an official nature reserve since 1937 – one of the oldest in Germany. For this reason, the park is also reserved for walkers. Those who want to visit all three Ludwigsburg palaces can do so on a walk along Wilhelmsallee, which runs through the park.
