A historic town centre like something out of a picture book: the winding alleys, picturesque half-timbered houses and small shops in the old town of Michelstadt invite you to take a stroll. On a guided tour of the town, you can learn interesting facts about Michelstadt’s history over the past centuries. Worth seeing are the beautiful market square with the famous late Gothic half-timbered town hall from 1484, the cellar courtyard with the Diebsturm tower and the town church. Strolling through the green town garden, you have a good view of the town wall and the town’s synagogue. This is one of the few remaining synagogues in Germany and shows the life of the Jews in the Odenwald in the last centuries.
