Due to the fish-shaped bridge head, the new Niendorf pier is also called the “fish-head pier”. After the demolition of the old wooden bridge after 47 years, the new bridge with a length of 185 metres was built in the year. As an addition to the “Niendorf Balcony”, the new bridge has a lot to offer its visitors: Playground equipment, an interesting information area as well as some swivel loungers and leaning places invite you to linger. Those who want to take a plunge into the cool water can use the hydraulic bathing jetty and be lowered into the water. No wonder, then, that the Niendorf pier is regularly used by many visitors who want to enjoy the view of the Baltic Sea.
