Fascinating natural monument in Allgäu

A unique natural spectacle in the middle of the Allgäu is the Partnachklamm gorge near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The 700-metre-long and in places over 80-metre-deep gorge was carved into the mountain over the centuries by the waters of the Partnach torrent. Walking through the middle of the massive rocks, new fascinating perspectives as well as water and light phenomena appear every few steps. Due to the dripping and splashing water and the narrow path, rainwear and sturdy shoes are advisable when visiting the Partnachklamm. An umbrella, on the other hand, is rather a hindrance in the narrow passages. The Iron Bridge is currently closed due to storm damage.
