Built in 2011, the Saale Tower in Burgk is already an absolute tourist magnet and one of the landmarks of the Thuringian Vogtland region. Those who climb the 192 steps to the top of the wooden tower have a fantastic panoramic view over the Saale valley, Burgk Castle and the Burgkhammer Dam from a height of 36 metres. Architecturally, too, the curved wooden construction is an absolute eye-catcher. If you are planning a longer excursion in the area, you can reach nearby Burgk Castle from the Saale Tower in just a few minutes. After a tour, you can then take a hike to the wooden bridge as well as the dam wall via a beautiful circular path.
