Historic salt boiling town

The old town of Schwäbisch Hall looks back on almost 1,000 years of history, and you can feel it almost at every corner. Medieval alleys, numerous towers, covered wooden bridges and magnificent half-timbered, baroque and renaissance buildings characterize the townscape. The history as a former salt boiling town is also present everywhere with the salt works and the annual salt boiling festival. A walk through the idyllic old town of Schwäbisch Hall also reveals how well preserved it is. Almost no houses were destroyed in the town during the two world wars. Particularly worth seeing are the market square with the baroque town hall and the Romanesque-Gothic church of St. Michael with its imposing flight of steps.
