In the middle of the Federsee nature reserve on the edge of the Bad Buchau spa park lies a special tourist attraction: the Shaking Forest. Especially for families with children and nature lovers, the famous forest is a great experience. Since the forest here grows on a reed or moor ground, the soft ground and the trees here bounce after every step. This unique natural phenomenon can be observed especially well after heavy rain. The bog in the Shaking Forest is one of the few in Baden-Württemberg that is still preserved. In the Wackelwald there are also some unusual tree and plant species to see, such as the downy birch, the rotten tree or various willow species.
