Here you can experience the splendor of classical Chinese garden art in miniature: in the Chinese Garden in Stuttgart. The impressive garden is located on a half-height above Stuttgart with a view over the valley basin. As is common in Chinese gardens, this one is meant to represent the world in a microcosm: Stacked stones stand for mountains, the plants for the earth’s natural vegetation, and the water in ponds and lakes for the oceans. The pebble-paved yin and yang symbol at the garden entrance also emphasizes the special significance of the park: life and death, spring and autumn, and the cyclical sequence of the cosmos are impressively represented here.
