Burg Teck is a summit castle located on the Teckberg at 773 metres near Kirchheim unter Teck. The castle is surrounded by the Teck nature reserve above the valley of the Lauter River, which flows into the Neckar. In 1152, Teck Castle was sold by Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa to Duke Konrad von Zähringen. The family of Zähringen then sold first part of the castle to the Habsburgs in the 14th century and later the other part to the Counts of Württemberg. After it fell into ruin in the following centuries, it was restored in the 19th century and an observation tower was added.
