Renaissance style museum center

The moated castle Glatt used to be the residence of the von Neuneck family, today it houses a total of four museums. The impressive Renaissance castle probably dates back to the 13th century and has been owned by the noble family ever since. The building, which is well worth seeing, is considered one of the few preserved moated castles in Baden-Württemberg as well as one of the oldest castles in the Renaissance style. In the course of the incorporation of the village Glatt into Sulz am Neckar, the moated castle Glatt became the property of the city. Between 1973 and 1989, the castle was extensively renovated. But it was not until 2001 that the Glatt Castle Culture and Museum Center with a total of four museums moved in.
