There is a lot to see on a walk through the historic old town of Wertheim. In addition to the numerous half-timbered houses, which include the narrowest house in the city, it is worth stopping at the Angel Fountain and the Blue House. Another sight of the romantic old town of Wertheim is the Spitze Turm. The town’s landmark can be seen from afar above the roofs of the half-timbered houses. The former watchtower dates back to the 13th century and was extended in the 15th century by an octagonal structure. Here, at a height of 10 meters, there was a prison, the fear hole. This was only accessible via a ladder.
