Popular meeting place "Old Wine Bridge

Whereas carriages and cars used to travel here in the past, Würzburg’s Old Bridge is now purely a pedestrian bridge. The building from the Baroque era connects the Main quarter with the old town and offers a unique view of the river and Würzburg’s Marienburg Fortress. Worth seeing are the 12 bridge figures, which represent, among others, apostles of Franconia, Würzburg bishops, various saints as well as Charlemagne and his father Pippin. When the weather is fine, several hundred people regularly gather on the Old Bridge to enjoy a glass of wine and the wonderful view. Hence the name “Old Wine Bridge” by which it is often referred to.
