Bad Kissingen Rose Garden: Off to the city of roses
All about the rose
As the Bad Kissingen spa gardens were only accessible to wealthy spa guests in earlier times, the town opened the so-called ‘Rosarium’ to all citizens. Today, you will find almost 200 rose varieties and around 6,000 rose bushes in the Kissingen Rose Garden at the Regentenbau. From early summer in particular, these transform the botanical garden into a sea of fragrant flowers. So it’s no wonder that the town is also known as the ‘Rose City of Bad Kissingen’.
You can enjoy the unique garden art on a relaxing stroll or take a break in one of the cafés on the promenade and soak up the atmosphere. From the rose garden, you can also take a leisurely steamboat trip through the floodplains on the Saale to the graduation house and the Upper Salt Works Museum.
A highlight for young and old in the Rose Garden is definitely Germany’s only multimedia fountain. Here you can experience impressive water choreographies to music several times a day. As soon as it gets dark, spectacular beamer shows are on the programme. Here, water droplets form a screen onto which beautiful images and films are projected.
