Situated in the north of Hannover, Altwarmbüchener See – with a length of 1,500 m and a maximum width of 450 m – is an ideal recreational area for nature lovers, bathers and water sports enthusiasts alike. The sandy beach is also called the “Riviera of Hanover”. Restaurants and service buildings are located here. The playgrounds and sunbathing lawns are naturally very busy, especially on hot summer days. The further east you go, however, the quieter and more natural the shore becomes.
